Title: Management Information Systems Specialist III
Education: B.S. Management Information Systems, West Virginia University
When did you join MATRIC and what is your role?
I joined MATRIC in the summer of 2010. As a Management Information Systems Specialist, I’m responsible for managing various parts of the software development lifecycle for MATRIC’s Advanced Software Technologies (AST) division. A few of my key responsibilities include serving as a liaison between MATRIC’s customers and our software development team, identifying requirements and ensuring their traceability throughout our software development efforts, and performing quality assurance testing on MATRIC developed software products.
What do you like most about working at MATRIC?
I really enjoy the variety that my job offers, my teammates in AST, and seeing our team succeed in making a happy customer. Having a wide range of responsibilities on the team never makes for a dull moment. There are some brilliant minds in the AST division and seeing our ideas become a reality always keeps things exciting. I also enjoy the quality of our company’s leadership team. Their open and honest approach to communication shows how much they value their employees.
What do you do in your free time?
I’m an active member in a 501(c)(7) non-profit organization called the 501st Legion. The 501st Legion is an international fan-based organization that builds and wears costumes of villain characters from the Star Wars universe. While the 501st was initially founded to unite costumers, one of our real-world missions is to bring good to our communities through volunteer charity work. The 501st is always looking for opportunities to brighten the lives of the less fortunate and to bring awareness to positive causes on both a local and global scale. Some of the organizations that we’ve proudly worked with include American Cancer Society, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Make-a-Wish Foundation, Relay for Life, Ronald McDonald House, Toys For Tots and more.
