On August 1, 2015, MATRIC achieved 365 consecutive days without an OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) recordable injury or illness.
To celebrate this major milestone, MATRIC leadership hosted all South Charleston, W.Va., area employees and their families at WV Power Park and all Morgantown, W.Va., area employees and their families at Monongalia County Ballpark on August 10 and 27, respectively.
“Safety is our number one priority at MATRIC,” said Greg Clutter, chief operating officer, MATRIC. “We work hard to ensure that our people operate in a safe environment and that we instill a culture of ‘safety first,’ so that each and every day they get home safely to their families. We’re proud of the entire team for achieving this significant accomplishment.”
From August 1, 2014, through August 1, 2015, MATRIC initiated several new projects, expanded the scope of existing projects, completed several infrastructure improvements to help us maintain environmental compliance and provide raw materials throughout our pilot plants. In addition, the teams safely completed high-risk work activities that are not frequently performed in our operations.
