The Science, Technology and Research (STaR) Symposium and 87th Annual Meeting of the W.Va. Academy of Science is approaching, and MATRIC is pleased to help sponsor the April 20-21 event, to be held at West Virginia State University in Institute.

Themed Innovation: From Concept to Commercialization, the program will feature successful West Virginia researchers who have transformed ideas from the lab to market, and detail advice on how to generate revenue and create jobs through scientific research. MATRIC’s own TRAX BioDiscovery will be represented during a panel discussion for start up biotech companies on the morning of April 20.

Keynote Speakers Include:

  • Gentry Lee, Chief Engineer for solar system exploration of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory
  • Dr. Paul Hill, Chancellor of the W.Va. Higher Education Policy Commission
  • Jay Rockefeller, U.S. Senator from West Virginia and chairman of the Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation
  • Dr. Subra Suresh, Director of the National Science Foundation.

The state’s best and brightest scientists and science students will be there, and awards will be presented for best abstracts, best student posters, high performance computing and the W.Va. Science Teacher of the Year.
